Congratulations to Mrs. Renae Gebhart as the South Dakota FFA Association surprised her this morning by recognizing her as the 2024 Golden Owl District Winner. Recognizing Mrs. Gebhart today was Mercedes Snedeker our Northwest Regional Specialist/South Dakota FFA and John Dady from Key Insurance/Bridgemark Insurance Solutions. The Golden Owl Award recognizes agriciltural educators across South Dakota for their tremendous contributions to helping the next generation of agricultural leaders. Each District will have one honoree, chosen from nominations made by students, parents, staff, and community members. At the State FFA Convention in April, they will recognize each District winner and announce the 2024 Golden Owl Grand Prize Winner, who will receive a trophy and a $3000 cash prize. Congratulations Mrs. Renae Gebhart on the being the District 8 Rep!

Lemmon School District seeks a motivated School Nutrition Director beginning the 2024-2025 school year. This position oversees all aspects of the district’s child nutrition operation for school breakfast, lunch, and other special events. Job functions include ensuring sanitation, food safety, and employee safety; overseeing the operational procedures for planning, preparing, and serving daily meals; ensuring program accountability; kitchen personnel management; providing nutrition education; financial management and record keeping; and providing friendly customer service to students, staff, and families. Applicants must have a high school diploma or higher degree. Additional considerations for the applicant pool will be relevant food service experience and certifications. This is an hourly 10-month position starting August 1 annually with expectations/opportunities to receive paid training before starting and between school years. Position considered full-time with benefits, salary depending on experience. Lemmon FFA hosted a livestock judging school and chili cook-off this past weekend! Thank you to the Barnes and Anderson families for bringing in animals, Lemmon Livestock for their facilities and Leif Bakken for being our official judge! Chili Cook-off winner was Gwen. Beginner winners Dawson, Gwen & Ashley. Juniors winners were Reva, Kyle & Kia. Seniors winners Darla, Kimber & Rance.








The HS STEAM class has been building catapults. They will test their catapult's distance, accuracy, and power.
