Congratulations, Riley!
Riley won the FFA Land Judging Contest in Wall this fall, earning a belt buckle and a $100 cash prize.
The South Dakota FFA Land Judging Contest teaches students about soil characteristics and their impact on land use. Participants evaluate soil texture, depth, erosion, slope, stoniness, and drainage to determine land capability and recommend management practices. The skills gained help students make informed decisions for both agricultural and urban applications, benefiting future agriculturalists, homeowners, and construction professionals alike.
