Katelyn represented South Dakota in the High School Youth Forum at the Society for Range Management Annual Meeting in Monterey, California. Her speech was titled "The Silent Healer: Prescribed Burns". She was chosen at a speaking contest this past June to represent South Dakota.

The ACT test is the new Junior State Assessment test! It will be given on March 11. The Dakota Dreams website has more information on this change as well as SD ACT codes and a Methodize ACT Prep link. 🤼 The wrestling crew is in Martin for the Bennett County Wrestling Tournament, starting at 9:00 AM.

Some of the 2nd grade students presented their writing project "The Best Part of Me" to the School Board at their February meeting. They did an amazing job celebrating a part of themselves that they are proud of!
During the February School Board Lemmon Leads presentation, Mr. Barnes and two of his students, talked about his Ag Structures and Welding Classes and gave a tour of our CTE(Career & Technical Education) classrooms. CTE classes are a great way for our students to work on projects for themselves and our community.
When you stop in the school later today or tomorrow for Parent-Teacher conferences, make sure to check out all the great elementary artwork in the hallways. We love the festive look!

Darla has been named a Top 4 State Finalist in the Star Farmer Award! She will now have an interview at the State FFA Convention in April and be recognized on the big stage for her achievement.
