Thank you to the Perkins County Sheriff’s office for visiting Street Law. Last week, we had three deputies who were able to tell us more about our constitutional rights.
This week we had the opportunity to have Deputy Schmeling and his K-9 partner Khaos come in to talk about narcotics. While in class, Khaos put on a demonstration of how he alerts to narcotics.
It has awesome to have the humans in class… but Khaos definitely stole the show!

Today is National School Bus Driver Day! We would like to say a big THANK YOU to our route and activity bus drivers! You are amazing!!

The fifth-grade class began with the opening pages of the Phantom Tollbooth, as a class over the course of the following weeks, we read the progression of Milo's journey and his encounters with the unique characters he met. Every reading led to an assignment and learning activity. This project was the ending project of the book and covered all elements of the reading. This was a very fun project and the students loved it.

Mrs. Katus' 5th grade class explored why the Moon seems to change shape (phases) over the course of a month. In the activity, Model the Moon's Phases, students used a ball as a model of the Moon and the Sun to gain a better understanding of how the interactions between the Sun and Moon are responsible for the Moon’s phases. To wrap up the lesson, cookies were used to make the phases of the moon in the classroom.
